We are delighted to offer a unique, once in a lifetime camping experience from Friday 14th to Sunday 30th July 2017 within the private, family part of the Estate, to which there is no additional public access.
The campsite enjoys the Estate’s best views of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are no electrical hook-ups and the loos and showers are temporary but, as a result, the atmosphere of the place is reassuringly natural without regimented pitches or tarmac trails. At the far end of the meadow, the grass stretches down to the banks of the river Usk, home to some of the best trout and salmon fishing in Wales. By night, the area is equally renowned for its starry skies, laying within an International Dark Sky Reserve.
Undesignated grass pitches. No electrical hook-ups.
Tents, campervans, caravans, dog – yes.
Facilities are temporary, with chemical toilet and portable shower units. Fresh water taps and rubbish bins. Tennis court available, no need to bring racquets and balls. See our website for more details on the Estate’s beautiful walks, plus how to book fly-fishing, clay-pigeon shooting and other activities.
Fabulous pizzas from Little Dragon Pizza and delicious wraps from Sugarloaf Catering will be served up on the lawn at Penmyarth during the performance. After the performance Little Dragon Pizza will move to the campsite for Family Camping and Cool Camping guests to enjoy tasty pizzas for dinner on Saturday 29th July. There will also be a Pimms stand, open-air rounders, football and outdoor games, including a family tug-of-war.
Sugarloaf Catering will whip up a tasty breakfast treat for the hardy campers on the Sunday morning. What better way to end a weekend than with breakfast made for you and no washing up?
Tickets to the performance are available via the website.
If you’re not exploring Glanusk park itself then heading out by mountain bike or on foot is what the Brecon Beacons National Park is all about. While there, be sure to pay a visit to Abergavenny Castle & Museum 01873 854282, where the main museum rooms are housed inside the Norman fortress’ former hunting lodge.
