Shooting at Glanusk

The Home Woods - 200+ Bird days The Foxhall Beat - 100-200 Birds days

THE FOXHALL BEAT - 100-200 BIRDS DAYS

It has been a wonderful season and with that in mind we have started to take bookings from past guns already which is very reassuruing that we are getting something right!. We will be shooting a few 200 bird days in October and Nov, 150 birds in December and 100 bird days in January for the 2012/13 season. Book early to avoid disappointment. Both Houses have been very busy with staying guns and we have loved entertaining all. We will be shooting one or 2 wednesdays a month and saturdays. The chance to do back to back days with the Glanusk Home Shoot and Foxhall is really worth a thought if you are looking for a back to back day/s. The Foxhall Beat is part of the Glanusk Estate and was developed as the 3rd beat to the main commercial shoot.

It is now run buy the Family and situated on the south western ridge of the Black Mountains, the Foxhall beat (1200 ft above sea level) commands spectaular views over the Usk valley and the Glanusk Estate. The family have 14 days to sell throughout the season and shoot Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are drives of open fields, deep gauges and 'off the top' of the mountain with some very spectaular sport. This is a really fun shoot for beginners and seasoned shots, run by Harry Legge-Bourke and Angus Gordon-Lennox.

Accommodation is available on the Estate in either the main house or the Lodge which comfortably sleeps 9 Guns and partners/wives or girlfriends. The Estate can also provide a full package of all meals and wine for staying guests, or self catering.

The shoot is not Vatable so we are £32 per bird with no vat and included in the shoot price is Coffee on arrival, Elevenses, Lunch and Tea. A scrumptious spread all round with all drinks included. A fabulous day out for a syndicate, corporate or family fun day out.

We dont cater for single guns but have put on a couple of days for a 4 gun party and a 6 gun party this season, both were enormous fun and the guns had a blast literally. We are most proud of being able to provide back to back days with the Glanusk Home Woods Beat, which caters for 200+ days up to 450, double guns as well. All you could need in one place with wonderful and comfortable accomodation.

Variety

The shooting on both beats have a selection of hill, woodland, open and snapshooting providing the perfect variety in any shooting day.

Accommodation

Catered or no self-catering accommodation for up to 9 /10 guns is available on the estate in either Penmyarth House or 'The Lodge'. After a very successful season despite the snow storms, the new dates are available and going fast. There are limited days available on Foxhalland these are mainly Wednesdays and Saturdaysand Home Woods shoot Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays but we can fit in back to back days. We organise a spectacular experience for you and your guests.

OFF SEASON:

Here at Glanusk we are lucky enough to have "Sporting Glory UK' who run simulating days using clay pigeons using the normal drives, and we can also organise lessons for those who are learning or just want a brush up!
